As the smoke clears, the Fontainebleau forest takes stock of its destruction

France 24 reports that nearly two thousand hectares of the Fontainebleau forest — the storied woodland south of Paris — have burned, with around nine hundred fifty firefighters and aerial teams still battling the blaze. Four days after it broke out, the fire has been contained but not yet extinguished. French President Emmanuel Macron is due to visit the site as the forest takes stock of the destruction.
