East Texas counties move to protect groundwater with new conservation district

East Texas is moving to protect groundwater through a new regional conservation district. The Texas Tribune reports that Gregg County, which includes Longview, has agreed to join the Northeast Texas Groundwater Conservation District, though the district has not yet been formally created.
