Trump wants to fence off the park closest to the White House, a popular protest spot

The Trump administration is proposing permanent fencing around Lafayette Park, the public space directly outside the White House. Per NPR, the park has long served as a gathering site for protests, and demonstrators are concerned the barriers would restrict that access.
