US gas prices edge up again as US-Iran tensions heighten over strait of Hormuz

Per AAA data, diesel in the US has climbed back above five dollars a gallon, with regular gas approaching four dollars. The prices had dipped in June following a US-Iran memorandum, but they're rising again amid heightened US-Iran tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping corridor for oil. The impact: a year ago, diesel was three point seventy-two dollars a gallon, meaning prices are up roughly a dollar and a quarter.
