Trump’s Board of Peace drops full Gaza recovery plan in favour of tiny pilot scheme

The Guardian reports that Trump's Board of Peace has dramatically shrunk its Gaza recovery plans. What began as an ambitious blueprint for rebuilding the entire territory has now become a small pilot project in southern Gaza. The plan calls for a temporary settlement housing just a fraction of the territory's two million displaced people, with Palestinian administration and police supported by a small international security force. The pilot isn't expected to be operational before year-end, amid concerns that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu may pursue a major offensive before Israeli elections.
