Italian court convicts 32 over deadly 2018 Genoa Bridge collapse

An Italian court has convicted thirty-two defendants over the 2018 collapse of Genoa's Morandi bridge, a disaster that killed forty-three people. France 24 reports that those sentenced on Thursday include Giovanni Castellucci, the former head of motorway operator Autostrade. He was among fifty-seven people put on trial, twenty-five of whom were acquitted or cleared. The ruling marks a major milestone in one of Italy's most notorious infrastructure disaster cases.
