Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed defence minister Mykhailo Federov, a popular reformist figure, following a breakdown in relations between the ministry and the country's top military leadership. The Guardian reports that at a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Zelenskyy defended the decision, saying he had to choose 'one side or the other' between Federov and military commander Oleksandr Syrskyi.
