Life-threatening flash flooding takes hold of central Texas as storms ravage region

world

Life-threatening flash flooding has taken hold in south-central Texas, with up to twenty inches of rain already fallen in some areas. The Guardian reports that flash flood emergencies were issued Thursday for parts of Kerr and Uvalde counties and the Texas Hill Country, where emergency crews have been performing water rescues, along with areas around the Guadalupe and Pedernales rivers. The disaster comes just one year after catastrophic flooding in the same region killed more than one hundred people. So far, there have been no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.
