Energy sector IPOs raised twelve point six billion dollars in the first half of this year—the highest half-year total since the dotcom bubble peak in nineteen ninety-nine. That crushes last year's full-year total of four point three billion dollars. The surge reflects an emerging constraint in the multi-trillion-dollar AI investment boom: the massive power demands of data centers are making energy access a critical bottleneck.
