Meduza reports that Ukraine's defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov resigned Thursday after six months in the role, having clashed with the country's military commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrsky. Fedorov had wanted Syrsky fired, but President Zelensky backed the general instead. Zelensky said that when the two leaders couldn't resolve their differences on their own, he had to decide, choosing to replace Fedorov. The European Union expressed surprise at the decision, and rallies supporting Fedorov emerged across Ukraine.
