Amnesty UK self-reports to watchdog after calling JK Rowling women’s centre ‘anti-rights’

On Thursday, The Guardian reported that Amnesty International UK has referred itself to the UK charity regulator over a report describing Beira's Place—a sexual violence support centre founded by author JK Rowling in Edinburgh—as 'anti-rights.' The report listed the centre among more than a hundred organisations Amnesty said were part of an anti-rights movement. Beira's Place has called the characterization deeply offensive and says it is considering legal action.
