Sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev accuses Ukrainian military intelligence officers of organizing the attempt on his life in Monaco

world

Sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev is publicly blaming officers of Ukraine's military intelligence directorate, the GUR, for the bombing that nearly killed him in Monaco. In a letter quoted by Meduza, he says the evidence he has leaves no doubt that serving GUR officers were directly involved, and he's calling on Monaco, France, and Ukraine to protect his family, witnesses, and lawyers until everyone responsible is identified and held accountable. The attack came on June twenty-ninth, when a bag holding a bomb was left outside his apartment building and detonated as he entered with his partner and thirteen-year-old son — all three were injured, and his partner lost both legs. A GUR representative has rejected the accusations as subjective political statements that harm the investigation.
