Vodafone has settled a legal claim brought by sixty-two of its former franchisees, ending a nineteen-month high court dispute. According to The Guardian, the small-business owners alleged the mobile phone group had unjustly enriched itself at their expense by up to eighty-five million pounds, after they ran up large personal debts they said stemmed from their deals with the company. Some of the franchisees said the pressure left them with suicidal thoughts. The agreement was reached without any admission of liability by Vodafone.
