Energy drinks to be banned from sale to under-16s in England

Starting next April, high-caffeine energy drinks will be banned from sale to under-16s in England. The Guardian reports that the government says about one hundred thousand children across the country currently drink these beverages daily, with higher consumption among young people in more deprived areas and households. The law is designed to improve health outcomes in younger generations.
