Russia says it returned the bodies of 501 Ukrainian soldiers and received 31 in exchange

Russia says it has handed over the bodies of five hundred one Ukrainian soldiers and received thirty-one of its own in return, Meduza reports, citing State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliyev speaking to the business outlet RBC. Ukraine had not confirmed the exchange at the time of publication. It follows a similar handover on June eighteenth, when Russia returned five hundred twenty-two bodies and Ukraine thirty-three, part of a recurring process of repatriating the fallen between the two sides.
