Per Ars Technica, a Trump teleprompter aide made one hundred thousand dollars betting on prediction markets by using insider knowledge about what the former president would say. The case is part of a pattern in which government officials weaponize their work knowledge on forecasting sites like Kalshi and Polymarket. A US soldier named Ken Van Dyke profited four hundred ten thousand dollars this way, using advance knowledge of military planning against Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro—he was arrested in April.
