Yes, breathing wildfire smoke can harm your health – here’s what you can do to protect yourself
health
Wildfire smoke from Canada is turning skies orange across parts of the United States. Per an analysis in The Conversation, the smoke contains fine particles called PM two point five that lodge deep in your lungs and can trigger respiratory disease, asthma, and possibly cardiovascular problems – all part of a trend as wildfires become more frequent and intense due to hotter, drier conditions. If you're in an affected area, protect yourself by staying indoors when air quality is unhealthy, using air cleaners with fresh filters, and wearing a properly fitted N ninety-five or KN ninety-five mask if you must go outside.
