HP fined 1.4 billion rupees for “cartelization” of ink cartridges, toner, PCs

Per Ars Technica, India's Competition Commission has fined HP and its reseller partners one point four billion rupees—approximately fourteen point four million dollars—for cartelization. The commission found that HP India colluded with channel partners to artificially raise prices on government contracts for computers and printing supplies, including ink cartridges and toner. The scheme was designed to discourage rival suppliers and resellers in the market.
