How Trump’s address bluntly aimed at destabilizing the US electoral system

politics

President Trump alleged in a White House address that China illicitly acquired voter information on two hundred twenty million Americans and interfered in U.S. elections in ways he claimed intelligence officials had suppressed. The Guardian reports Trump deployed his presidential authority and intelligence agencies in an apparent attempt to undermine public confidence in the electoral system. While many states do allow public purchase of voter roll information, Trump did not specify how China allegedly obtained the data. The address appeared aimed at destabilizing electoral confidence before November's midterms.
