Jackdaw gasfield would create only 27 full-time jobs, green campaigners say

Environmental groups are opposing a major North Sea gas project. Adura—a joint venture between Shell and Norway's Equinor—is developing the Jackdaw gasfield, one of the largest remaining in the region. According to The Guardian, documents show the project would create only twenty-seven direct full-time jobs. Campaigners argue that's too small a return to justify new drilling, particularly since they say the gasfield won't meaningfully lower energy bills. The groups are urging political leaders, including Andy Burnham, to reject approval.
