US hits bridges, energy facilities and key port as it expands strikes against Iran

world

The United States has widened its air campaign against Iran, striking bridges, energy facilities, and a key port on Friday, according to The Guardian. Iranian state television reported that strikes on bridges in the southern Hormozgan province killed at least seven people; those bridges were a vital transit point for Bandar Abbas, Iran's main port. Further strikes brought down a tower at Chabahar port on the Gulf of Oman and hit electrical infrastructure and Iranshahr airport. The Guardian says Iran responded with its own strikes on US allies in the region and urged Iranians to cut back on electricity use after the attacks on its power grid.
