Trump administration drastically limits length of foreign journalist visas

politics

The Trump administration is drastically cutting how long foreign journalists can work in the United States. The Guardian reports visas will shrink from five years to two hundred forty days, with Chinese journalists limited to ninety days. The change eliminates the "duration of status" system that previously allowed foreign press to stay indefinitely if they met eligibility requirements. For international media, it marks a major new constraint on coverage from within the country.
