Epstein survivors pan Blanche meeting as dismissive, "demoralizing"
politics
Multiple survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse are describing their long-awaited meeting with attorney general nominee Todd Blanche as dismissive and, in one survivor's words, demoralizing. Axios reports the Thursday sit-down came after retiring Senator Thom Tillis signaled he wanted survivors consulted before advancing Blanche's nomination through the Judiciary Committee, where a single Republican no vote could stop it. Accuser Annie Farmer called Blanche abrasive and condescending, while survivor Elizabeth Stein said the meeting had everything to do with Blanche checking a box to get a promotion. A DOJ spokesperson pushed back, calling it a productive initial discussion and saying Blanche urged the victims to meet next with FBI investigators.
