Brenda Fricker, Oscar-winning Irish actress, dies aged 81

Brenda Fricker, the Oscar-winning Irish actress, has died at the age of eighty-one, ABC News reports. She became the first Irish actress to win an Academy Award, for the nineteen eighty-nine film My Left Foot, and later played the kindly Pigeon Lady in Home Alone 2.
