The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun investigating whether lamb meat imports are harming American producers, the Federal Register reports. The core question: are imports increasing enough to cause serious injury to the domestic industry—and if so, protective tariffs could follow. The ITC, which has deemed the case extraordinarily complicated, must issue its preliminary findings by November thirteenth and a full report to the President by January eleventh.
