Venezuela quake death toll tops 5,000 as IMF releases recovery funds

The death toll from last month's twin earthquakes in Venezuela has now climbed past five thousand, officials say. According to France 24, the country will draw three hundred forty-six million dollars from the International Monetary Fund to fund reconstruction. The coastal state of La Guaira, just north of Caracas, was decimated when the two quakes struck within a minute of each other on June twenty-fourth.
