Will AI fix prior authorization—or make it worse?

Ars Technica reports that artificial intelligence could theoretically speed up decisions on straightforward cases. But a twenty twenty-five American Medical Association survey found that sixty-one percent of doctors worry AI tools will increase wrongful denials of necessary treatments. As health systems consider automating prior authorization, physicians remain skeptical that speed will come without a cost to patients.
