'Lack of evidence' means Lao officials won't lay charges over teens' deaths

world

Officials in Laos say they won't lay charges over the deaths of six people, including two Australian teenagers, citing a lack of evidence. ABC News reports that investigators gave one of their first detailed accounts of the case, pointing to the fact that no autopsies were carried out on the victims. Among the dead were nineteen-year-olds Holly Morton-Bowles and Bianca Jones. Without post-mortem examinations, authorities say they don't have the proof needed to bring anyone to account.
