Iran attacks US allies in Middle East in second week of renewed conflict

world

Iran has launched a wave of attacks against United States allies across the Middle East, as renewed American strikes on Iran entered a second week and fighting escalated over the Strait of Hormuz. The Guardian reports that Kuwait has accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure, including a power and water desalination plant. That is a serious concern for Kuwait, an arid nation that relies on desalinated water for about ninety percent of its drinking supply. Jordan says it shot down incoming missiles, while sirens sounded in Bahrain as the region braced for further escalation.
