Joe Caldwell, ‘Dark Shadows’ Writer, Dies at 97

Joe Caldwell, a writer on the original "Dark Shadows" television series, has died at the age of ninety-seven. Variety reports that Caldwell died Monday following a stroke, with the news confirmed by Bob Issel, who frequently hosts "Dark Shadows" fan events. According to Issel, Caldwell had signed a handful of his memoirs just three weeks earlier, on June twentieth. "Dark Shadows" was a Gothic soap opera that became a cult favorite during its original run in the late nineteen-sixties.
