Russian online retail giant Wildberries is offering its sellers discounts and loans, but no compensation for goods destroyed when Ukrainian drone strikes set two of its warehouses ablaze. According to Meduza, the fire at the company's largest warehouse, in Elektrostal, still hasn't been put out, and Wildberries says it will take about another month to tally the damage. CEO Tatyana Kim reminded sellers that since the start of July, the company has not been contractually obligated to reimburse them for lost goods. Instead, the marketplace and its banking partners rolled out relief measures: reduced storage fees for the first forty-five days after delivery, free transfers of goods to regional warehouses, and up to six months to defer debt repayment. Sellers had already voiced outrage over losses that, for now, remain theirs to absorb.
