Zelensky replaces chief of General Staff after dismissing top commander

Maj. Gen. Ihor Skybiuk has been appointed chief of the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, per Meduza. He replaces Andrii Hnatov and his appointment follows Ukrainian President Zelensky's dismissal of Oleksandr Syrskyi as commander-in-chief, with Mykhailo Drapatyi assuming that role. Skybiuk, a Hero of Ukraine and former commander of the Air Assault Forces, had been serving as deputy chief of the General Staff. Zelensky said the appointments ensure coordination across all parts of Ukraine's armed forces.
