Louisiana House candidate accused of rape says he hopes to again ‘earn’ Trump endorsement
politics
A Republican congressional candidate in Louisiana who was named in a police report accusing him of rape, an allegation he denies, says he hopes to once again earn Donald Trump's endorsement as he decides where to run. The Guardian reports that the candidate, Blake Miguez, is weighing a bid in one of two districts, neither of which he lives in but in both of which he is permitted to run. He had already secured the president's backing under the previous map, but that calculus shifted after the Supreme Court's decision in Callais versus Louisiana prompted the state to quickly redraw its US House districts.
