politics

A nun in Texas has spoken out for the first time about being detained by immigration authorities last month. The Guardian reports that Sister Leticia Ugboaja was walking to Sunday mass in McAllen when ICE officers approached her. She said she went into a cold sweat and couldn't understand what was happening in that moment. Ugboaja shared her account Thursday at a church in McAllen, which sits on the US-Mexico border.
