Per Euronews, excavations in southeastern Spain are challenging what historians thought they knew about medieval coexistence. At the Cerro de la Virgen site in Calasparra, archaeologists uncovered evidence that a Christian community maintained its religious traditions into the ninth century. The finding suggests Christians and Muslims coexisted more peacefully than previously assumed.
