Law student charged after military-grade bomb intercepted near Irish border

A twenty-five-year-old law student has been charged in connection with what authorities called an extremely significant bomb intercepted near the border between the UK and Ireland. The Guardian reports that Isobella Perrie Sullivan, from Clane in County Kildare, appeared at a special sitting of Trim district court on Friday evening, where she was charged with possession of explosives and remanded in custody. According to the paper, the device was seized during an intelligence-led operation targeting dissident republicans, the term for splinter groups opposed to Northern Ireland's peace settlement.
