Here's good news for sparkling water fans: unsweetened sparkling water may be gentler on your teeth than regular soda, ScienceDaily reports. A small preliminary study found that soda causes a much stronger and longer drop in mouth acidity, while sparkling water produces only a temporary dip. Crucially, saliva quickly restores normal conditions, and the acidity remains well above the threshold for tooth enamel damage.
