Bloomberg: Senate reaches bipartisan deal on Russia sanctions bill after Lindsey Graham’s death

Bloomberg reports that Senate Republicans and Democrats have finalized language on a Russia sanctions bill co-authored by the late Lindsey Graham, with a procedural vote set for July twenty-eighth — the same day as Graham's funeral. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Washington for the service and is expected to meet with senators while there. The measure, formally named for Graham, would let the president impose tariffs of up to one hundred percent on imports from top buyers of Russian oil and gas, duties of up to five hundred percent on direct Russian imports, a ban on Russian uranium, and an extension of Iran sanctions through twenty thirty-one. It had stalled since twenty twenty-five over President Trump's reluctance to back it, but Meduza notes he pledged support for the bill after Graham's death.
