The lost generation: The unfinished education of Rohingya youth in Bangladeshi refugee camps

In Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar camps, thousands of Rohingya children and young people are barred from Bangladesh's formal education system because of their refugee status, leaving most to rely on under-resourced learning centers or community-run schools taught by displaced Myanmar teachers. Global Voices reports that even students who finish secondary school hit a wall: no Bangladeshi university can admit them, and their years of study often carry no recognized certification beyond the camp. Rights researchers cited in the piece say around six thousand four hundred informal learning centers now operate in the camps, but capacity, teacher shortages, and material gaps still leave a clear gap between secondary school and any path to higher education.
