Iran launches missiles at U.S. base in Jordan
world
Iran fired multiple ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan on Tuesday, and U.S. Central Command says every one was intercepted. Axios reports the strike is the first of its kind since President Trump paused strikes against Iran last Friday to give diplomacy a chance. CENTCOM says forces from Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps launched the missiles and that U.S. troops remain at a high state of readiness. The base was previously hit earlier this month in an attack that killed two U.S. service members, and this new strike now puts pressure on the days-old pause.
