The US Senate confirmed Jay Clayton as director of national intelligence, a Trump ally now overseeing the nation's intelligence agencies. According to The Guardian, the vote was fifty-one to forty-seven, split largely along party lines. During his confirmation hearing, Clayton sidestepped questions about the twenty twenty election and declined to say that Trump lost.
