Middle East live: Iran warns against attempts to cross Strait of Hormuz without authorisation

According to France 24, Iran's Revolutionary Guards issued a warning Thursday that they would take appropriate measures against any vessels attempting to navigate the Strait of Hormuz without authorization from Tehran. The statement coincides with a visit by US top diplomat Marco Rubio to Bahrain, where he's reassuring Gulf allies of American protection as Washington pursues negotiations and military readiness regarding Iran. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint through which roughly one-third of global maritime oil passes.
