Google begins global rollout of age verification API in Google Play

Google is launching a global rollout of its Play Age Signals API, according to Ars Technica. The system lets app developers verify user ages without ID or selfies—instead it connects to Google's Family Link, where parents can set age ranges for their children's accounts. Those ranges may change as kids get older. Parents can choose to share these ranges to enable more age-appropriate app experiences, though participation is fully voluntary and can be disabled at any time. The rollout comes as governments worldwide implement age verification requirements for app stores and online services.
