Tourists on Champs-Élysées seek refuge from heat as more records tumble

Europe is in the grip of an intense heatwave. According to France 24, at least one hundred one million people across the continent will experience temperatures above thirty-five degrees Celsius on Thursday, with around fifty million of them in France. In Paris, tourists are ducking into air-conditioned shops along the Champs-Élysées to escape the heat, while workers are finding ways to adapt to the extreme conditions. As the heatwave sweeps the continent, temperature records continue to fall.
