Moscow IVF clinic adds ‘terrorist and extremist’ designation notice to Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s sperm donor profile

Russia's Federal Financial Monitoring Service has placed Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, on its list of terrorists and extremists. The designation came after the FSB opened a criminal case against Durov on charges of aiding terrorism. The move has now entangled a Moscow fertility clinic that uses his sperm for in vitro fertilization — the clinic has added a notice to his donor profile flagging the designation, and clinic leadership is evaluating whether to end their arrangement with Durov. According to Meduza, Durov became a sperm donor fifteen years ago, and his genetic material has since helped over one hundred couples in twelve countries have children.
