Quantum computers have long promised to solve certain problems far faster than classical machines, but there's a critical catch: when results are too complex for ordinary computers to verify, how do you actually know they're right? Per Ars Technica, IBM addressed this puzzle on Thursday by announcing three new quantum advantage demonstrations, each using different approaches to error correction and validation. As IBM's Jay Gambetta told the publication, 'Trusted computing when you can't do classical simulations is a big deal'—and the company says these latest demonstrations provide exactly that.
