Petrol prices in the UK are nearing their highest point this year as US military escalation against Iran pushes global oil costs higher. The AA reports that average pump prices hit one hundred fifty-nine point five pence per litre on Thursday, rising more than three pence this week, and are now expected to eclipse May's year-high of one hundred fifty-nine point seven pence per litre, straining household budgets.
