SpaceX is set to acquire 130,000 acres of marshland in southern Louisiana

SpaceX is acquiring roughly one hundred thirty thousand acres of Louisiana marshland along the Gulf of Mexico, per Ars Technica. The eighteen-mile stretch southwest of Lafayette known as Pecan Island will transfer when Governor Jeff Landry announces the deal later this month. The land became available through a settlement resolving lawsuits over ExxonMobil's coastal pollution and erosion.
