According to Boing Boing, a man checked into a hotel in Sligo, Ireland in June two thousand nine using the false name Peter Bergmann and a nonexistent Austrian address. He paid cash nightly. Over three days, surveillance footage showed him repeatedly leaving the hotel with a purple plastic bag and returning without it, carefully moving through blind spots between cameras to dispose of his belongings. He subsequently died on a beach.
