Denying domestic abuse allegations, Rep. Max Miller isn’t dropping his reelection bid
politics
Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller is refusing to drop his reelection bid despite abuse allegations from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, who says he threw scalding water on her, held a gun to her head, and fractured their toddler's collarbone, according to court documents The 19th reviewed. Miller denies the claims, calling them exaggerated fallout from a contested custody fight, and has sued Moreno for defamation. Her father, Republican Senator Bernie Moreno, broke ranks to say Miller "should not serve" and needs psychological help, though House Speaker Mike Johnson says the allegations should run through the Ethics Committee process instead. Republicans face a Wednesday deadline to decide whether to replace Miller on the ballot.
